Claudia Begin | August 2022

Hi ladies, today I would love you introduce Claudia Begin from Saint-Henri, Quebec. Claudia. She works in administration at S’import Auto Family Garage. She got involved in the auto community when her brother started taking her to a lot of different events like demolitions and tractor pullings when she was young. When she met her partner that’s when she really started going to car shows. When asked how she decided to buy a Volkswagen she said “My partner didn’t give me much choice.”

Over the last few years, she's had several modified cars but her current is her favorite. She had an MK3 at the time but a friend of hers had this 1991 shell. Her partner said if she sold her Golf, she should buy the shell. The day she sold the Golf they left to go pick up the Jetta shell. Her first thought was to put a VR6 3.2 in it but then her partner found a VR6 turbo. Her favorite mod on her car is definitely her engine. She really hasn’t had anyone who influenced her. She wanted to keep her car and the engine (which is a strong point in the car) as original as she could. She has been the one to find all the deals she's gotten.

The most enjoyable part of being part of the car scene is how she's met some amazing people who share the same passion. She said some of them have become family to them.

Everyone helps each other out when they need it. They all share tips and/ or tricks for the future builds. Her tips for other VW Girls is “do not be discouraged!” Sometimes you may see your car smashed up after spending hours on it can be very upsetting, but never give up. In the end you will be very proud of yourself and what you have accomplished. Claudia would like to shout out her spouse. She said he spent a lot of time working on her car while she was at home with her kids. It would not have been possible without him.
